Toolbox questions

What do the Log / Quick check / Calculator / Planner tags mean?
Log tools (weight, temperature, cost) build time-series records so you spot trends over weeks. Quick checks are one-minute questionnaires that grade tonight's setup with a red / amber / green result. Calculators turn the numbers you type (watts, grams, budget) into a concrete plan, and planners walk you through dated steps like quilling care, taming or a due date. Related tools link to each other — for example the hibernation-risk check links into the ongoing temperature log.
Are my answers uploaded to a server?
Never. All 23 tools save data only in your browser's localStorage. There is no account system and no backend receiving your answers — the tools even work with the network off.
Will my records still be there on another browser or device?
Records live in the specific browser on the specific device, so they do not sync to another browser, phone or private-browsing window, and clearing browser data removes them. Batch export is on the member roadmap; for now you can keep occasional screenshots or notes as backup.
Do the tools cost money, or will they later?
Every tool on this page is free forever. If paid content launches, it will be limited to optional knowledge products such as premium PDF guides — the tools themselves will not be put behind a paywall.
The tools warn about vet visits — can they replace a vet?
No. The questionnaires are triage and education built from multi-source husbandry guidance; they cannot examine your hedgehog. Any red-result, blood in stool, breathing trouble, limping, prolonged not eating or a cold/stiff body means an exotic-pet vet visit without delay.
